Welcome to 2023! We're excited to announce that The WT of Whidbey has become The WT of Fidalgo, located near La Conner WA! Subscribe to our newsletter to stay in the loop! **Please be patient while property pictures are still in transition. The tents and bathroom are unchanged. Also, we are working fervently to have everything done and ready for our guests by opening day; however, we maybe still working on things such as the Tiki Bar.**
Our two beautifully decorated "glamorous camping" Safari tents are the perfect retreat for hopeless romantics, nature lovers, writers, health enthusiasts or just couples that want to hide away! We invite up to four adult guests, two per tent (rented separately) to experience pure tranquility nestled in nature. Our season is April through September, and available Tuesday through Sunday nights. Beautiful La Conner is located roughly 67 miles north of Seattle!
The space
Tents are constructed on a raised platform, blanketed inside with intricate rugs for extra warmth. Each tent has a plush queen-size bed with down comforters and luxurious bedding. Enjoy sleeping in 100% organic cotton sheets by locally-owned West Coast Mercantile. Plenty of extra blankets and a small space heater to take the chill off. There is a small dining table with seating for two, along with an assortment of books and small games. Linens, towels, and robes are provided. The “World Traveler” is decorated with pieces from around the globe. There is a tall standing mirror and chaise for leisurely lounging. The “Moroccan” features colored-glass hanging lanterns and a Turkish floor couch. Outside each tent is a 5-foot covered deck with cozy seating. Indulge in a complimentary bottle of local wine and delicious chocolate truffles upon your arrival!
Outside of the local entertainment all around us, there is a dart board on the property for guest use; along with many yard and board games. An assortment of maps and guides are provided if you choose to check out local activities like wineries, shops, dining options, or hiking trails. You may also want to check out booking a fishing trip or whale watching tour! If you are a golfer, hit the tee out at Swinomish Golf Links. Or even plan a day to visit the San Juan Islands!
Come ready to cook! After spending the day visiting Fidalgo Island and gathering up delicious dinner items, guests have access to a generous outdoor kitchen. Includes a BBQ, Keurig coffeemaker, hot water sink, and mini-fridge. Fully stocked with cookware, serving products, paper goods and spices. Enjoy your island foraged cuisine at the large outdoor dining table. Each morning the host provides coffee, tea and fresh organic eggs for guests to cook up and enjoy! Enjoy a cool beverage at the no-host Tiki bar, stocked with glassware, blender, ice, cocktail tools and recipes. Alcohol is not provided so please BYOB.
In the evening, relax by a crackling campfire (burn-ban permitting) and listen to the occasional hooting owl and/or eagle calling through the trees. Have fun watching our resident hummingbirds chase each other around. Not to worry if you are a novice to campfires, a fire can be started for you upon request. A small amount of firewood is provided each evening. Feel free to bring more, or additional wood can be purchased for a nominal fee. Complimentary S'mores kits are provided for your enjoyment!
Guest access
Once settled in, guests are encouraged to stroll the property, strike up some fun with one of the many yard games available or simply relax and enjoy your quiet retreat relaxing in the double hammock swing. Also, there is are yoga mats in each tent for calming meditation. Please feel free to say hello to the resident chickens that lay your morning eggs, Occasionally, wildlife can be seen roaming about.
The bathroom facility is an upscale, shabby-chic outhouse with solar-powered lighting, kept impeccably clean and stocked with necessities. Revitalize your body and mind in the outdoor rain-shower oasis. The maze-like entrance allows for the ultimate privacy. Pamper your senses with fresh air and take in the sights and sounds of nature surrounding you. Towels, robes, shampoo, conditioner, and body soaps are provided, but bring along your flip-flops.
Other things to note
This property requires all guests to be over 21 years of age. Reservation must be made by and for the guests that are staying. We do not accept 3rd party reservations made for someone else.
Check-in time is 3 pm - 8 pm. Check out is 11 am. Quiet time is 10 pm- 7:30 am. Please respect these set times. The property does not allow children, infants, or pets. No exceptions will be made.
Out of respect for the other guests, we ask that absolutely no video recording equipment of any kind be set up. Hand-held cellphone photos and videos are still allowed and even encouraged!
The wall tents are amazing tents! But guests are ultimately camping, so the hosts ask guests to please come with happy camper expectations. Dress warm; island temperatures can sometimes be 10 degrees cooler than Seattle, so guests should dress in layers and bring warmer clothes for the evening time.
A small amount of firewood is provided. The hosts ask guests to bring more if they enjoy a long evening out by the fire, or additional wood can be purchased. Campfires are contingent on county regulations. Host will enforce all burn-ban restrictions in place at time of stay.
There is no TV at the property.
